If you are too young to remember, in 2005 Keanu Reeves starred Constantine, a movie based on DC Comics' Hellblazer comic book, and oh boy… fans really like it, actually, now is one of his most recognized films by fans and critics and a few moments ago it was revealed that the expected sequel is a reality.

Yeap, you read correctly. According to a report from Deadline, the sequel to Constantine is a reality and the production will be in charge of Warner Bros. in its attempt to boost comic book franchises.

Like we were saying, the film was inspired by the Hellblazer comic and tells the story of the supernatural exorcist and demonologist from Liverpool, England, so, let's say that the occasion sounds like the most propitious for its return, plus the success that Keanu Reeves is living lends itself to it.

According to the report, the sequel has confirmed Keanu Reeves as the main character and Francis Lawrence as director, just like in the 2005 film. Also, production and screenwriting will be handled by Akiva Goldsman, J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella, being a joint effort between their respective companies Weed Road Pictures and Bad Robot.

This deal was headed by Warner Bros Pictures Group co-presidents Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy and will be executive produced by Lorenzo DiBonaventura and Erwin Stoff. The report also notes that the first Constantine movie grossed over $200 MDD in 2005, a tremendous success that all parties involved want to replicate or surpass.
