Despite previously framing Phantom Liberty as the final major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED isn’t quite finished with Night City. During a recent developer deep dive on the Switch 2 port, community manager Alicia Kozera revealed that a new update is in the works and confirmed its release date: June 26.
“I can tell you right now that we’re planning another patch for the game, the last one wasn’t the last one,” Kozera said when asked about a new DLC, adding that the team will get together towards the end of the month to discuss what the patch will include.
Shortly after the event, global community director Marcin Momot took to social media to tease the announcement further.
“We’re not done yet! Stay tuned for more info about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update coming later this month. We’ll start spilling the beans closer to the release of patch 2.3,” he wrote.

Associate game director Paweł Sasko also confirmed the news via X:
“We have been cooking for you in secret for a bit,” he said. “As usual, I’m taking care of the update personally, and we will communicate more when it’s ready. Much love, chooms.”
While CDPR hasn’t detailed what the new patch will look like, update 2.2 set a high bar. Released in December and developed with the support of Virtuos, it introduced expanded character customization and gave players more screen time with Johnny Silverhand, portrayed by Keanu Reeves.
With Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition freshly launched on Switch 2 and the sequel, currently known as Project Orion, entering pre-production, this patch may serve as both a final thank you to longtime players and a subtle handoff to what comes next.
The franchise is also returning to Netflix, riding the wave of success from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners with a brand-new animated series.
