The hacking and leakage that impacted Insomniac Games add to a recent list of cyberattacks against video game companies. The scandal was the talk of the week, but something many agreed on was the harm it causes to workers. A testament to this is Dinga Bakabas statements, the head of Arkane Lyon.

The director of Marvels Blade is upset about the hack against Insomniac and its leaks

Before Insomniac fell victim to the hack, the hype was on Arkane Lyons side with the confirmation of Marvels Blade, a project that puts the Bethesda and Xbox studio in the realm of superhero video games. However, in a matter of days, the French studio drew closer to Insomniac due to what happened to this PlayStation studio, and the game director of Marvels vampire hunter, Dinga Bakaba, came to the defense and criticized these kinds of acts.

The director of Marvels Blade criticized leaks and their impact on workers

In this regard, the creative shared an anecdote that the Arkane Lyon team experienced when there was a possibility of information leaking about Marvels Blade: "My team and I lived in terror that there might be a leak before the announcement. When rumors started circulating, I had my first physical symptoms of stress in decades, and I had nightmares every night. These kinds of things hurt; Insomniac deserves our decency, attention, and support."

Dinga Bakaba exposed the damage that workers suffer when their projects are leaked

Subsequently, the head of Arkane Lyon reminded everyone that the protagonists and the main victims of leaks are the workers who create the video games, and nothing more: "Games are made by people. People who care about how their work, the fruit of their labor, sweat, and sacrifices, reaches the eyes of those for whom they do it: the players. We are not public relations figures; we are not our companies. We care about our games. A development roadmap is not a marketing plan; it is a representation of our goals as creators, artists, engineers, producers, and quality control. Leaks impact us; they force us to change plans, discard ideas, create assets for new rhythms, or respond to concerns that shouldnt exist. It affects our health, our jobs."
