The Fallout live-action series is still on everyones lips, so some gamers think its the ideal time for Bethesda to talk about the development and release of Fallout 5. Is the game already on its way and will the studio use the popularity boost to promote it?
Emil Pagliarulo, a veteran of the studio, knows that fans want to know more about it, so he spoke on the subject recently. Many gamers will be disappointed, as he made it clear that news about Fallout 5 is still a long way off.
Fallout 5 is still years away and Bethesda wont be rushing development
Its no secret to anyone that Bethesda takes its time developing its new games, mainly when it comes to the next installments of its stellar franchises. Of course, Fallout is no exception and its been years since the release of Fallout 4.
Pagliarulo ended the hopes of gamers who want to see Fallout 5 soon, as he stated that they need "time to make great stuff." We know that Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls VI, new content for Starfield and also still supporting Fallout 76. So, apparently, Fallout 5 is still years away.
The creative assured that the studios development timelines are never specific and can vary due to various factors. He stated that with Starfield they took the time to update their technologies, which will undoubtedly help to have faster and more effective development processes in the future. However, this is no guarantee that Fallout 5 will be coming soon.
"It always comes down to that most important resource of all – people. As with any dev team, we have talented folks who need time to make great stuff. So we cant do everything at once," Pagliarulo explained.
That said, fans of the franchise better arm themselves with patience. We know that Todd Howard, the studios creative, has already shared some details about the new installment with creatives from the series. This was to prevent the team in charge of the live-action production from doing something similar.
