Five Nights at Freddys took everyone by surprise with its original release in 2014. Almost 10 years later, the franchise is still going strong and is now ready to make the leap to the big screen at the end of October. Will the movie live up to expectations? Well have to wait to find out, but the opinion of the franchises creator has certainly increased the communitys hype.
Were talking about Scott Cawthon, the famous designer who rose to fame for his work on the original entries in this horror game franchise. Although he retired from the gaming industry in 2021, he was involved in the production of the film starring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard.
As expected, the independent developer was one of the first people to enjoy the video game adaptation. Although he was cautious with his comments, his opinion was enough to excite fans.

In mid-2023, Scott Cawthon posted on the subreddit of Five Nights at Freddys to thank fans who wished him a happy birthday. He also took the opportunity to reveal that he was able to watch the first cut of the live-action adaptation.
"Im an older man; I cant believe its been almost 10 years since FNAF! But again, thanks to everyone. I was able to see the first cut of the movie a couple of days ago, and I think it turned out amazing. Im very excited for everyone to see it in October!" the creator exclaimed.
Since the version Scott Cawthon saw belongs to an early cut, there is a possibility that the material shown in theaters starting from October may be slightly different. Either way, its a good sign that the franchises creator liked this production.
Although the creator distanced himself from the franchise after a controversy he was involved in, he still comments on the new projects. For example, he expressed his disappointment when a leak revealed the first official trailer of the movie.

Although Scott Cawthons statements are a good omen, we will have to wait until the official release to discover if this ambitious production based on the independent horror game lives up to the communitys expectations. Fortunately, it wont be long until we find out.
