Gravity Rush live-action movie in development
By Frida Salazar onDirector and screenwriter already teased

This week we have reported a good number of movies and unspecified productions based on video games, and seems like Sony wasn’t going stop announcing more projects as according to Deadline a movie based on the 2012 PlayStation Vita’s action-adventure game, Gravity Rush has launched development.
PlayStation Productions and Scott Free Productions are in charge with Anna Mastro serving as a director and Emily Jerome as a screenwriter. Mastro has worked on other productions such as Disney+’s Secret Society of Second Born Royals, Showtime’s Shameless and Hulu’s Runaways.
On the other hand, Emily Jerome is a rising writer, making Gravity Rush one of her first major projects, she is better known for Panopticon (2017) a thriller script which Scott Free last year came aboard to develop alongside the scribe, and which according to IMDB will have the participation of Anthony Mackie.
If you didn’t know…
Gravity Rush was originally released on 2012, developed by Project Siren. This open world game put you in the shoes of Kat, an amnesiac with the ability to manipulate gravity, who uses her powers to defend the floating community of Hekseville from the mysterious race of monsters known as the Nevi, all of this while she tries to uncover the mystery behind her past.
Back in 2017 the game received a sequel, Gravity Rush 2, which exceeded expectations and made the critics fall in love with the game even comparing it with Studio Ghibli productions.
While we don’t know who will distribute and produce the film we expect to have some answers from this in the following months.
So far PlayStation Productions have confirmed films of Days Gone, Gran Turismo, Jak and Daxter and Ghost of Tsushima. As if that weren't enough, they are also preparing series based on The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, God of War and Horizon.
