In early December 2023, Rockstar Games shared the first trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6. While millions of fans expressed their excitement, one person is very disappointed by a scene in the teaser and has even threatened legal action against the studio.
The community quickly discovered that some scenes in the teaser are inspired by real-life videos. One sequence that caught significant attention was of a man with purple hair and tattoos covering much of his face.
Fans concluded that this character is based on Lawrence Sullivan, better known as the Floridas Joker.
FLORIDAS JOKER LASHES OUT AT GRAND THEFT AUTO 6 AND DEMANDS $5 million
Lawrence Sullivan is very upset with the open-world video game. Shortly after the official teaser release, he lashed out at the developers, claiming that they used his image without consent, demanding a $2 million dollars compensation and threatening legal action.
Although actor Roger Clark, who portrayed Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, is skeptical and believes the lawsuit wont progress, Floridas Joker demanded an extra million dollars in the hope of a response from Rockstar Games.

Now, several weeks later, Lawrence Sullivan reappeared in a new video delivering the "final warning" and threatening Rockstar Games with a lawsuit if they dont address his complaints.
"Yall playing with my intelligence. Its been mad days, this is the final warning. Ive just came back from Miami, just came back from California, and talked to both of my lawyers… If we dont get a response until after my birthday, which is January 11, were going to take legal action. I want 5 million dollars now”, Lawrence Sullivan said.
Lawrence Sullivan argues that people harass him in public places, such as the streets and the airport. He urges Rockstar Games to contact Take-Two Interactiv, to provide him with the money. If the character featured in the official GTA 6 trailer is indeed based on him, its a parody after all. Therefore, its uncertain if theres legal ground for the lawsuit to proceed.
