At this point, it’s no secret that Grand Theft Auto VI is the most anticipated video game of the decade. As we inch closer to its rumored 2026 release, millions of fans still wonder how much they’ll have to pay to experience Rockstar Games’ next masterpiece.

The title was officially revealed in 2023 with a breathtaking trailer that captivated audiences worldwide. A second trailer followed in early 2024, showcasing more of its open world and main characters. Yet, Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive have remained silent on many key details — especially one major question: how much will GTA VI cost?

💰 Does GTA VI Deserve a $100 Price Tag?

Rumors claim the new entry could cost as much as $100 USD, while other leaks suggest it might go as high as $120 USD. Although unconfirmed, the speculation has sparked heated debates online.

Now, one familiar voice from Grand Theft Auto V has weighed in. Jay Klaitz, who portrayed the fan-favorite character Lester Crest, believes the upcoming title set in Vice City will justify its rumored price tag.

During an interview with The Escapist, Klaitz shared insights from his time on GTA V’s production and his love for the franchise. When asked if Grand Theft Auto VI is worth $100, he didn’t hesitate:

“Yeah, man,” he said confidently. “These games take years and years to make. Like we saw with GTA V, you’re basically buying several games in one — with DLCs, online content, and future updates.”

While he supports Rockstar’s work, the actor also expressed empathy for fans:

“I hope they find a middle ground,” he added. “But I do believe this game will be worth its price.”

⚖️ The Ongoing Price Debate

Rockstar has yet to reveal Grand Theft Auto VI’s official price, leaving players anxious that it might surpass the current $70 standard. Such concerns are understandable — Mario Kart World recently pushed the limit to $80, and even Microsoft briefly considered similar increases with The Outer Worlds 2 before reversing course after fan backlash.

Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed that the company’s philosophy centers on delivering more value than they charge:

“We always aim to provide more content and value than what we ask for,” Zelnick stated. “Every time we set a price, we want it to feel like good news for players — that the experience far exceeds the cost.”

Until Rockstar officially announces pricing details, fans remain both excited and anxious about what could become the most expensive — and ambitious — game ever released.
