Senuas Saga: Hellblade II has been making waves recently due to the previews, and although attention has been focused on its frame rate limit, it hasnt dampened the excitement surrounding its release. Just like the first title, the sequel is expected to be a graphical powerhouse thanks to its use of the engine and its optimization. And if the hype wasnt enough, a recent analysis suggests were likely looking at a milestone of the current generation.

Hellblade II could be the most impressive game on Unreal Engine 5 to date

An analysis by Oliver Mackenzie of Digital Foundry on high-quality material from Senuas Saga: Hellblade II provided by Microsoft has resulted in a series of praises for Ninja Theorys work. In that regard, the facial designs of the characters and the details composing each part of their faces are highlighted, considered to be of the highest level in the industry. Likewise, theres praise for the handling of depths in the environments and how it blends with the characters movements and various forms of interaction. Additionally, the analysis mentions the meticulous care Ninja Theory has taken in the design and animations of combat.

Furthermore, the analysis notes that having the material from Senuas Saga: Hellblade II in raw form is different from what we see in an official trailer on YouTube, so theres full confidence in the current state of the game just weeks before its release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.

Senuas Saga: Hellblade II is one of Microsofts most significant games for this year, and despite some criticisms, Ninja Theory remains true to its style, for example, in terms of duration, as it will be a title that you can finish in less than 10 hours, much like the first game. Additionally, the British studio justified its 30 frames per second limit on Xbox Series X|S to offer a cinematic experience.
