Xbox players will enjoy attractive releases and several exclusive games in the upcoming months of 2024. Unfortunately, a highly anticipated debut has been delayed and will not arrive this year as planned by its studio.
REPLACED was revealed at E3 2021 and has since captured the attention of gamers with its futuristic setting and appealing 2.5D aesthetic. Coatsink and Sad Cat Studios had planned to release the game this year on PC and as an exclusive for Xbox consoles.
Players interested in this indie game will need to be patient and wait even longer, as the developers require additional time to meet expectations. Thus, REPLACED is now set to release in 2025.
REPLACED delayed again and will arrive in 2025

Through a statement, the studios confirmed that REPLACED will not debut this year. Its release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) is now planned for sometime in 2025, with no exact date.
The developers stated that creating the title has been quite a challenge, so they need additional time to complete it to the high standards they aim for. They also announced that the game will be playable at gamescom 2024, a video game fair taking place this month.
They mentioned they are preparing a surprise for players who cannot attend the event. The community speculates that it could be a new trailer or even a demo showcasing the games development progress.
“We’ll be brief: REPLACED will be released in 2025. Our initial release date was optimistic, and we apologize for that. Developing REPLACED is a quite unique challenge, and we are proud to create something so special. We need more time to ensure we meet the high standards we’ve set and to meet our fans expectations,” said Sad Cat Studios.
REPLACED is one of the most anticipated indie games of recent years. It’s a title that Xbox players are eager to get their hands on, as it looks very promising and will be available as a day-one release for Xbox Game Pass.
