Social networks are on fire after reports of Starfield, Hi-Fi RUSH and more Xbox exclusives coming to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. While Microsoft has yet to confirm its change in strategy, part of the Xbox community is not at all happy about this possibility.
Many gamers criticized the tech giant for this possible direction adjustment, believing that it is dooming in a way the future of Xbox and all the work the company has done over the years. Some gamers even threatened to abandon the brand and rather go to PlayStation.
The Xbox community is upset with Microsoft
Some Xbox gamers believe that bringing major exclusives to competing consoles is a big mistake, as it will detract from the brands ecosystem and, furthermore, they wont receive titles of the same caliber in return. Many already consider it as a stumble similar to the Xbox One presentation.
For such reason, some fans assured that they will leave Xbox if the reports come true. This is due to 2 reasons: they see it as a betrayal of their loyalty to the brand and, in addition, they believe that in the end PlayStation will have the games of both ecosystems.
Several gamers even stated that they will leave Xbox for the PlayStation ecosystem if the change of strategy is real. Others simply do not understand the rumored adjustment by Microsoft, which has invested millions of dollars in acquiring major studios.
"If this is true, Im leaving Xboxs ecosystem entirely. This is a deathblow for Xbox if true, and something that I wholeheartedly disagree with, would feel betrayed by, and will lead to me spending my money elsewhere," claimed user WorldsXbox on Twitter.
"Bad for the competition, if everything comes to PlayStation, there will be no reason to buy an Xbox which will basically allow PlayStation to have a monopoly on the market," stated another user on the social network.
Several people feel that their investment in Xbox wont be worth it if all its exclusives come out on other platforms, where they can also play other attractive AAA games. Others feel that this is good news, as more gamers will have access to amazing titles.
Finally, there are gamers who prefer to doubt the reports and hope that they are not true, as they think that much of Xboxs identity and long-term future in the industry depends on it.
