The ROG Xbox Ally handhelds are set to launch later this year, but Microsoft and ASUS have yet to officially confirm the prices for their two models. This uncertainty has some gamers concerned, especially since earlier leaks suggested these devices could be pricey. Reports claimed that both the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X would cost more than other similar portable gaming PCs.
Not long ago, an insider stated that the base model of the ROG Xbox Ally would sell for around €599 EUR, while the upgraded ROG Xbox Ally X would cost about €899 EUR. At today’s exchange rate, that translates to roughly $692 USD for the base version and $1,038 USD for the higher-end model.
Soon after, ASUS accidentally revealed the European prices for both systems (and they matched the leaked figures exactly). However, according to new reports, the converted prices for the U.S. and other markets may be slightly lower than many expected.
How Much Will the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X Cost?
The ROG Xbox Ally marks an important step for Microsoft. Both versions of this handheld will let gamers enjoy their entire PC library on the go, while also giving access to platforms like Steam and services like Xbox Game Pass.

Given their specs and advanced tech, it’s no surprise the devices are expected to be more expensive than some other options on the market.
The good news is that, according to Windows Central, the converted prices for the U.S. may not be as steep as feared. The standard ROG Xbox Ally will aparently sell for about $599 USD, while the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X could be priced at around $899 USD. Although still a significant investment, that’s lower than previous rumors that pegged the top model above the $1,000 mark.
Of course, while this information comes from credible sources, it’s still best to wait for Microsoft and ASUS to officially confirm the final pricing.
Xbox’s Handheld Consoles to Launch Later This Year
The ROG Xbox Ally handhelds will have a limited release at first, launching only in select countries during the holiday season. For Latin America, Mexico will be the only country to get the devices in 2025, with broader availability across other regions in 2026.
Players in Spain, the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, the UAE, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkey will be able to get their hands on the new handhelds at launch.
Insiders claim that pre-orders will open sometime in August, with an official launch expected in October. Now that pricing details have leaked, ASUS is likely to announce the final release date soon.
