Nintendo is a company that can boast of having some of the greatest games of all time. Titles like Super Mario Bros.; The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; Super Mario Bros. 3; Metroid Prime; Super Metroid; Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and many others have left their mark on the industry and defined genres. Well, new information suggests that one of these classics may be in line for a remake.
The information comes from Zippo, a well-known Nintendo insider. In a recent blog post celebrating the anniversary of Super Mario Bros. 3, the insider hinted that, according to their sources, Nintendo is considering a remake of the game that originally debuted on the NES.
"It seems that Nintendo has been having, and I quote directly from the sources, serious discussions about a new remake of Super Mario Bros. 3. The game had a famous remake 30 years ago in the masterpiece that is Super Mario All-Stars. It also received a series of new levels in the GBA version that was released in 2003. Its a game that Nintendo just cant leave alone, and its hard to blame them. I hope they decide to say yes to this project," said Zippo.
Its important to note that Zippo made it clear that Nintendo is only discussing the possibility of this project. So, if its real, the project is not yet in development.

Another interesting point is that, according to Zippo, Super Mario Bros. 3 may not be the only classic title with the possibility of a remake.
According to the insider, the console that will serve as the successor to the Nintendo Switch will feature remakes of some of the companys most important games, as well as others that are less well-known. Some of these projects may arrive in the first year of the new consoles life.
"Not only that, but you can expect to see a lot of Nintendo game remakes on their next console, some will be remakes of some of their most important titles, and others will be obscure titles you havent seen in a long time. Some of them will arrive during the first year of the consoles life," the insider mentioned.
Should you believe the rumor about a Super Mario Bros. 3 remake?
Its essential to remember that this information is currently just a rumor. While Zippo has been right about some predictions, its important to take their information with a grain of salt. For instance, they were one of the first to mention a sequel to 1-2 Switch, the remaster of Persona 3, and Sonic Superstars. However, they are not an infallible source.
