Every month, Sony offers attractive titles to keep PlayStation Plus subscribers engaged and renewing their memberships. The strategy has paid off, with the service growing steadily since its relaunch. True to tradition, Sony has now revealed the PS Plus free games for September, and the lineup is one of the best yet.
There’s great news for PlayStation players: a critically acclaimed Xbox title is joining the service, alongside one of the most beloved indie games of all time and another creative independent title that stood out for its originality.
Which Games Are Coming to PS Plus in September?
The highlight of the September lineup is Psychonauts 2, the acclaimed platform-adventure developed by Double Fine and published by Xbox Game Studios. The latest adventure of Razputin “Raz” Aquato impressed critics and fans alike with its imaginative world, engaging story, and refined platforming mechanics. Starting next month, PS Plus subscribers will be able to experience this award-winning title.
The second major addition is Stardew Valley, Eric Barone’s iconic farming simulator that has captivated millions of players worldwide. Known for its massive amount of content, constant updates, and a passionate community, Stardew Valley remains one of the most popular indie games ever since its 2016 debut.
Lastly, PS Plus members will also get Viewfinder, the innovative puzzle indie developed by Sad Owl Studios. Viewfinder gained popularity for its unique gameplay mechanic where players use photographs, drawings, screenshots, and even paintings found within the environment to manipulate and reshape levels.

Don’t Forget: August PS Plus Games Still Available
Sony has issued a final reminder for subscribers to claim August’s PS Plus games before they leave the service. You still have a few days left to grab titles like Lies of P, the hit soulslike from NEOWIZ that debuted in 2023.
Other August games like DayZ and My Hero One’s Justice 2 can also be claimed at no additional cost until September 1, 2025. Make sure to redeem them before they’re gone.
