The PlayStation 5 Pro is on the verge of becoming a reality. Reports with confidential information are increasing, and this time they find points of agreement that only heighten the anticipation for the new model of Sonys current console. Today, important information was generated and confirmed by a very reliable source.

The PS5 Pro and Its Power Are Real, Confirms Respected Journalist

Amidst the hype caused by the report from the YouTube channel specializing in technology, Moores Law is Dead, about the specifications and performance of the PS5 Pro, respected journalist and insider Tom Henderson, from Insider-Gaming, confirmed that what has been revealed so far about Sonys console is real. According to the information, the performance data and specifications come from a developers portal accessed initially only by PlayStation employees, but this week it allowed access to external developers.

It is mentioned that development kits for the PS5 Pro have been in the hands of PlayStation Studios teams since September 2023, and in January 2024, they reached third-party studios who have been working with the hardware in recent weeks.

When Will the PS5 Pro Debut and What Performance Will It Have?

On the other hand, Tom Hendersons report indicates that the uncertainty at this moment for Sony is about the release as the original plan is for the PS5 Pro to debut in the holiday season of this year, i.e., in the last quarter, however, there are no major video games, neither from PlayStation Studios nor third parties, that Sony is considering to showcase its console. The other option, less likely, is to schedule the debut in the first quarter of 2025, but it is thought that during that period it will encounter the Nintendo Switch 2, so it doesnt seem like a wise move.

Having said that, the report concludes with the revelation of the power that the PS5 Pro would have: rendering 45% faster than that of the current PS5, ray tracing acceleration 2, 3, and up to 4 times faster, 33.5 teraflops, scaling enhanced by the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling (PSSR) technology, compatibility with resolutions up to 8K, machine learning architecture, AI-enhanced calculation acceleration.
