Adapt or Die, is a maxim that applies increasingly to service games that have understood the new phase of diversifying their content and gaming proposals. This is what will happen with PUBG: Battlegrounds, the successful Battle Royale, as Krafton has ambitious plans beyond its original offering, but not all the news is good.
PUBG to Become a Franchise with Spin-Offs
In a recent statement (via Exputer), Krafton, the company behind PUBG, expressed its interest in turning the game into a franchise, meaning a foundation from which related games and other types of content will emerge. Regarding this, Changhan Kim, the companys CEO, expressed their interest in expanding investment in PUBG-related projects and the continuous revenue that this could generate: "The company seeks to build its own platform ecosystem by turning PUBG into a franchise to have unrivaled competitiveness. Specifically, the company plans to implement a long-term brand strategy, such as expanding the product line based on PUBG and increasing the development business through internal and external studios, as well as outsourcing."

Krafton Confirms the Use of AI to Realize Ambitious Plans with PUBG
However, part of this ambitious plan expressed by Krafton includes the use of new technologies, especially AI tools. The PUBG company sees this as a unique opportunity to push their projects forward and confirms that AI will be part of their development processes: "We view deep learning technology as a game-changer in the gaming industry, so we actively announce its use in the development stage. Since KRAFTON already possesses the worlds best AI research and development capabilities, it is expected to provide new user-centric experiences as well as production efficiency."
What are your thoughts on this? Will PUBG serve as an IP to bring all kinds of spin-offs and related proposals?
