The Japanese company and the Polish studio celebrated the achievement and thanked the players who purchased the game either in pre-sale or immediately after its launch.
With this sales figure, the Silent Hill 2 remake developed by Bloober Team has already made history for the IP, being the fastest title to reach this milestone. This is particularly impressive considering the series had been dormant for many years.
Additionally, the million copies sold of Silent Hill 2 set a new benchmark for the franchise in the current era. Total sales since its debut on PlayStation in 1999, and up to the remake, barely reached 9 million copies worldwide across all its releases.
The launch of Silent Hill 2 has yielded very positive results, and its important to remember that it has not been released on Xbox yet, as the PS5 exclusivity period will last until August 2025.
