The Opening Night Live of gamescom 2023 came to a close. Although there were few surprises and announcements of new titles, it was the perfect stage to see games that we already know are on the way. Starfield, Bethesdas new RPG, was one of the major highlights of the event.
The open-world video game was responsible for kicking off the broadcast with a spectacular live performance by a pianist, who played a theme from the soundtrack. Immediately after, a new and exciting live-action trailer was shown.
The brief narrative in the trailer, which is essentially an enhanced commercial, tells a story. Specifically, we see a girl admiring an astronaut, who embarks on an interstellar mission. After several scenes showcasing the beauty of outer space and the planets, the cosmonaut returns to Earth.
Of course, the trailer is capable of evoking many emotions: from excitement to inspiration. The orchestral remix of Rocketman, the iconic song by singer and songwriter Elton John, wraps the package with a beautiful bow. In fact, many fans believe that this material demonstrates that the franchise has the potential to reach new horizons.
A Starfield Movie or Series? Fans Believe It Would Be an Excellent Idea
Specifically, fans praised the trailer and expressed their desire to see a film adaptation of Starfield. In the YouTube comments section and on social media, users explained that a movie or television show based on Bethesdas new IP would be a major success.
"Oh my god, this trailer is insane! I really hope well have a movie or series someday," commented one fan. "Now we need a film; make it happen," wrote another. "If this were a movie, Id watch it over 1000 times. Its mind-blowing!" wrote a third user.
Even a fan remembered the animated trailer that was released a couple of weeks ago and expressed their wish for a series that follows that formula to exist someday.

Of course, at this point, its difficult to know whether Bethesda Game Studios and Microsoft might try to bring the world of Starfield to the big screen or television. Due to the scale of the project, creating an adaptation for either format would likely be a monumental task. Nevertheless, the idea is undeniably exciting.
Starfield is just around the corner. Early access begins on September 1st for all players who purchased the special edition, while the rest of the fans will have to wait until September 6th. However, its advisable to be cautious of the spoilers that are already circulating on the internet.
But tell us, would you like to see an adaptation of this franchise? Share your thoughts in the comments.
