The Day Before, the survival horror game that combines elements of The Last of Us with The Division and even State of Decay, went from being hyped to being seen as a potential scam. A change in game engine, licensing issues, the controversial use of volunteer-created content, and the silence from its lead developers raised doubts. However, the project refuses to die and now has a date for its early access release.

The Day Before Gets an Early Access Release Date on Steam

The controversial The Day Before plans to swim against the tide and, despite having everything against it, it seems ready to present itself to players in a few weeks. According to a new video posted on its official channels, it will debut on December 7th via Steam Early Access, which currently has a price of $39 USD, a figure updated in some markets but not in Mexico, where it can still be added to the wishlist.

What Is The Day Before, and How Is It Played?

The announcement of The Day Befores early access date was motivated by a resolution from the relevant intellectual property authorities that ruled in favor of the Fntastic studio. This not only confirmed the release date but also shared more details.

According to a report from Wccftech, The Day Before is set in a fictional city inspired by the East Coast of the United States, New Fortune City, and the game starts after a zombie apocalypse. Players will create their characters and begin their adventure as survivors rescued by the Woodberry colony.

From that point, following some narrative elements, players will have to explore outside the protected areas and gather loot to trade for the games virtual currency, Woodberry Coins, which can be used to purchase weapons, food, medicine, larger backpacks for carrying more items, and other upgrades in a survival game where monitoring your characters status indicators will be essential.
