SPY×FAMILY is one of the most popular modern anime and manga. Given its positive reception worldwide, its normal for there to be interest in a live-action adaptation, as has happened with Dragon Ball, Death Note, Bleach, and so on (some more successful than others). But is there a chance it will happen?
If youre one of those eagerly awaiting the next season of the SPY×FAMILY anime, you probably hope that SPY×FAMILY gets a chance as a live-action show. And the truth is, youre not alone; theres even a Netflix producer who wants to make it happen.
One Piece Producer Wants to Create SPY×FAMILY Live-Action
Were talking about Steven Maeda, one of the producers of Netflix responsible for the live-action adaptation of One Piece, which has turned out to be so successful that Season 2 has already been confirmed.
Well, Maeda confessed in an interview that he not only loves the SPY×FAMILY anime but is such a fan that he has even been looking for an opportunity to work on an adaptation of this anime or manga.
"I absolutely adore SPY×FAMILY. Its just wonderful," the producer commented when ComicBook asked him about the anime. "Its funny you mentioned that. I have been hunting SPY×FAMILY for a while."
Will Netflix make the live-action of SPY×FAMILY?
Now, this doesnt mean that Netflix is preparing a live-action of SPY×FAMILY. However, its clear that there is a desire on the part of the producers. Considering that SPY×FAMILY is an extremely popular franchise, we could say that its a matter of time before production houses approach Shueisha and Tatsuya Endo for a possible project of this kind. Only time will tell.
The story of SPY×FAMILY has already been interpreted with real actors
On the other hand, you should know that, although SPY×FAMILY is a relatively new franchise, it has already been interpreted by real actors; so, strictly speaking, there has already been a live-action adaptation.
It was a musical that was performed at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo earlier this year, allowing us to see Loid Forger, Yuri Forger, and Anya Forger in real life, embodied by real actors. In fact, there were 4 girls selected to play Anya Forger.
