Xbox Game Pass is highly popular due to its growing library of games. In that line, April promises to be a month full of day 1 releases, meaning titles available on the service from the very beginning. Unfortunately, a developer has changed its plans, bringing bad news for gamers.
Although rare, it sometimes happens that a studio cancels its plans to bring its title to this or another subscription service. There are many reasons behind such situations, from changes in contracts to development setbacks.
Recently, the studio Baby Robot Games announced that it will be unable to bring its new video game to Xbox Game Pass as promised two years ago. Faced with a wave of confusion, they felt the need to clarify the situation to reassure the community.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy cancels its day 1 debut on Xbox Game Pass, is the Xbox port still happening?
In 2022, the development studio Baby Robot Games announced its new project: Ereban: Shadow Legacy, a game that combines platform action with stealth. At that time, they revealed it would be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
To the players misfortune, there was a last-minute change of plans. In late February, the company announced that the game would be available for PC starting April 11th, but also confirmed that the day 1 release on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass was canceled. Additionally, they cast doubt on the future of the port for Microsoft consoles.
It seems there has been a lot of confusion in the community in recent days. Has the release on the subscription service been definitively canceled or is it only temporary? Will the game ever come to consoles? On March 28th, the studio felt the need to share another statement to clarify the situation and address players doubts.
"Since announcing the release date of Ereban: Shadow Legacy, some of you have expressed concern that the game will not be available on Xbox Game Pass as previously indicated. As we shared a few weeks ago, there were changes to that matter. Due to our separation from Raw Fury, the day 1 debut on Xbox and Game Pass had to be canceled," said Baby Robot Games.
Although there is a real possibility that the game may never arrive on Microsoft consoles, the company reassured fans and emphasized that they will try to finish that port.
"As players who grew up with various Xbox consoles, we were very excited about this release, so its disappointing for us as well; however, rest assured that we will do everything we can to bring Ereban to Xbox as soon as possible."
