Xbox Game Pass is one of the best options to try out new company titles at a very affordable price. Just last year, subscribers were able to play Hi-Fi RUSH and Starfield at no additional cost. To the surprise of many, a title developed by a competitors studio will soon join the catalog.
Its not uncommon for PlayStation exclusive games to make their way to Xbox ecosystems and become part of the subscription service catalog. For example, Rollerdrome, which originally debuted only for Sonys console, joined the Game Pass library late last year. Similarly, Hideo Kojimas Death Stranding was available through Microsofts initiative.
For the past couple of years, the latest titles from a well-known Sony sports franchise have been available on other platforms. The new installment will follow suit and will come to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch in 2024.
MLB The Show 24 Gets Release Date; Coming to Xbox Game Pass
In a statement, Major League Baseball and Sony shared the first details of MLB The Show 24, the new title in the popular baseball franchise. Despite being developed under the PlayStation Studios umbrella, it will arrive on more platforms.
The companies confirmed that this sports simulator from San Diego Studio will debut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on March 19. The good news is that it will be available on day 1 on Xbox Game Pass for Microsoft consoles.
MLB The Show 24 will cost $59.99 USD on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, while the versions for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will be priced at $69.99 USD.
According to a 2021 report, it was Major League Baseball that requested expanding the reach of this game series and having new releases debut on more platforms. This years title represents the third release on a Nintendo console and the fourth on Xbox platforms.
In addition to the release date, Sony confirmed that Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a player for the Toronto Blue Jays, will be the athlete adorning the official cover of MLB The Show 24. The content of the collectors edition will be revealed on February 6.
