Xbox Now Has Its Own Helldivers 2 Thanks to Halo Infinite Players; Introducing Helljumpers, a Free PvE Mode Created in Forge

Helldivers 2 was one of the biggest surprises of 2024. However, there’s a catch: it’s a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, meaning Xbox players can’t experience it. Given this situation, a talented group of fans has created a free alternative within Halo Infinite.

Due to the popularity of Arrowhead Game Studios’ multiplayer game, a fan started a petition, gathering thousands of signatures in an attempt to draw developers’ attention to the possibility of an Xbox port for Xbox Series X|S.

Recently, a member of Arrowhead confirmed the possibility of a version for Microsoft consoles, though the final decision rests with Sony and Phil Spencer’s team. While there’s hope, there’s no confirmation of a port at this time.

In response, a dedicated group of players has crafted a similar experience within Halo Infinite from 343 Industries.

Here’s How to Play Helljumpers, the PvE Mode in Halo Infinite Inspired by Helldivers 2

In early 2024, a group called The Forge Falcons set out to create a mode inspired by Arrowhead’s project within Halo Infinite using Forge’s tools. Given the overwhelmingly positive response from the community, they began working immediately.

Now, seven months later, the first version of Helljumpers, a PvE mode aiming to bring the intense action of Helldivers 2 to Microsoft and 343 Industries’ free-to-play title, has launched. Interested players on PC and Xbox consoles can try it out, and accessing it is straightforward.

To play on any platform, simply favorite the Helljumpers map and the associated game mode via Halo Waypoint with an active Microsoft account or through Halo Infinite’s content browser.

Once done, fans can create custom games, invite friends to enjoy this co-op survival experience, or join other sessions. While the mode supports up to four players, solo play is also possible.

Much like in Helldivers 2, players face waves of enemies and complete objectives to progress. The mode features custom stratagems, extraction mechanics, and a progression system reminiscent of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s title.

Though Helljumpers is a robust project, The Forge Falcons remind users that it’s in early access, so issues may arise. They aim to release a final version soon and encourage players to report any bugs or glitches.
