Xbox has very important titles on the way that have been in development for years. Gamers are hoping that some of them will reappear soon and confirm their release window. A very reliable source just hinted that very soon we will have new information on an exclusive game announced in 2020.
In case you dont remember, Undead Labs gave us the first glimpse of State of Decay 3 at that years Xbox Game Showcase. Jez Corden, a reporter for Windows Central, hinted that the studio is already preparing to reveal more details of the game at the next big Xbox event.
News about State of Decay 3 could be very close
Jez Corden spoke about recent reports on the reveal of Gears of War 6. He assured that Xbox has other surprises in store for its upcoming mid-year event and hinted that State of Decay 3 is one of them.
"I’m excited about Gears 6 for the June Xbox Showcase, but there’s another game whose state I’m incredibly excited to learn more about," the journalist said. Unfortunately, he did not reveal any further details on the matter.
In 2020, Undead Labs stated that the title would take time to come to Xbox Series X|S, as it was still in its early stages of development. A few years later, reports surfaced about the project going through serious problems with its development.
Specifically, there were allegations of discrimination and sexism, as well as management problems within Undead Labs. Xbox did not discuss these reports; however, it stated that its goal is for State of Decay 3 to evolve the franchise to compete with the best in the industry.
Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, stated that the third installment is one of his most anticipated projects from Xbox Game Studios. He even revealed that he is very excited with the progress he has seen of the project.
Although Corden is a very reliable source, the reality is that the appearance of State of Decay 3 at the Xbox Game Showcase in June is not guaranteed. However, it is also not unreasonable to think about its reappearance, as it has been almost 4 years since its revelation.
