Cypher is one of the many sentinels available in VALORANT. In each update, changes and adjustments are made to the abilities of the agents so that their performance is more balanced according to the current meta.
In the last update, this agent received a big buff, now making him one of the best sentinels currently. It could even be considered one of the most useful in general. Although normally its utility gives a lot of relevant information that makes it a good pick, now its even more reliable for almost every situation.
What are Cyphers abilities and recent buffs?
Cyphers skill set provides one of the most important factors in the game, information. The spycam is a very versatile aid and can change the course of a round making the odds of winning greater. Mostly if you communicate through voice chat with your team and let them know where the enemies are located.
The Cyber Cages are very dynamic, they can be used to make strategic moves in which the enemy is left badly placed and exposed to free damage, or directly an assured elimination.
These traps also serve as a defensive form, you can deny the enemys vision and cross into potentially dangerous areas, or play with the enemys mind and stay in the same place waiting for the others to pass confidently to a location that will be the place of defeat for them.
Cyphers tripwires were greatly buffed. Before, you could only set these traps in specific places that are sometimes easier to predict as rounds go by. Now the tripwires can be set in many open places, leaving room for numerous settings that enemies will have difficulties predicting, even more, when located in the oddest places possible.
Last but not least, the ultimate ability Neural Theft. When used in a dead opponents body it gives you the exact location of all remaining enemies for all your teammates. The recent update provided a little buff in which the enemys location is shown for a second time after 4 seconds of the first reveal, providing some extra information that might be useful to defuse the spike more strategically.
It is also possible to make much more detailed and complex moves that no one would normally expect. These techniques have been used by different experienced players and they often make plays so unique that hundreds of people are left stunned.
