While the Resident Evil franchise is famous for its single-player campaigns that feature an intricate story full of conspiracies, it also has behind it a series of secondary game modes that managed to conquer the hearts of fans. The most popular is undoubtedly The Mercenaries. Fortunately, this optional mode will soon arrive in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
After a long wait, the new version of Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham's classic adventure is now available for all platforms. While fans enjoyed the narrative, they also missed optional content such as the traditional Mercenaries mode.
If you're in that group of people who want to endure hordes and hordes of ferocious enemies, you're in luck. We say this because Capcom confirmed in a new trailer that the Mercenaries mode will arrive in Resident Evil 4 Remake on April 7, so the wait will be very short. The best of all is that it will be a totally free DLC.
The company refrained from revealing more information about it, so we don't know details such as playable characters, maps, types of enemies, and so on. It is possible that this new version includes all the material of the original title and takes advantage of the benefits of the remake's combat system. We will have to wait to find out.

Since its debut, The Mercenaries immediately became a fan-favorite game mode. Its popularity was such that it had its own spin-off that debuted exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in that distant 2011. Its last appearance was in Resident Evil Village. And we remind you that Resident Evil 4 Remake is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
