A Resident Evil 5 remake is next? New hint excites fans

Capcom could be hinting at remake of one of the worst games in the series

Capcom is known for having a plethora of games in development, including their highly successful Resident Evil franchise. While the development of the IP expands through completely new games, the company has also been releasing remakes of older titles in the series since 2019. It is expected that this trend will continue, and it appears that the next remake will be of one of the worst games in the series, but also one of the best-selling ones.

In case you missed it: Fans are review bombing Resident Evil 4 Remake due to "woke" changes.

SPOILER: We will now discuss something that happens at the end of Resident Evil 4, specifically in Resident Evil 4 Remake, as well as some details of the plot of Resident Evil 5.

We say this because in one of the final scenes of Resident Evil 4 Remake, it is possible to see the recurring villain of the series, Albert Wesker, on a screen showing footage of Excella Gionne.

Without going into too much detail, this woman is a character who debuted in Resident Evil 5 and is a key associate of Albert Wesker. Additionally, in the scene, you can see the garden where the protagonists Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar discover the origin of a virus.

Will Capcom develop a Resident Evil 5 remake?

This could be a nod or reference to Resident Evil 5, which for obvious reasons was not in the original 2005 game and was added in the remake to favor continuity and connection of the universe. However, it could also be a hint of what is to come in Capcom's remake line.

Moreover, a remake of Resident Evil 5 makes a lot of sense. While it is not the game with the best reviews in the series, it soon became the best-selling game in the series and remained Capcom's best-selling game until the release of Monster Hunter World in 2018. Additionally, the remakes have proven to yield good results.

Capcom could even take advantage of the opportunity to make some modifications to the narrative and details that did not please fans.

What do you think the next Resident Evil remake will be? Would you prefer a remake of Code Veronica or another one from the original 1996 game? Let us know in the comments.

Resident Evil 4 (2023) is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
