PlayStation Plus decided to upgrade and compete closely with Xbox Game Pass, the most popular service in the industry. Apparently, gamers are slowly changing their perception about the platforms and some believe that PlayStation's service is close to getting the upper hand.
The reason? All the games it has received the last few months. From a subscriber perspective, Xbox Game Pass is a great service, but over the past few months it hasn't received as many games as it used to. So many believe that PlayStation Plus will overtake it sooner or later, especially if it continues to receive as many games as it did in May, a month in which it will grow with 23 titles.
Gamers think PS Plus competes closely with Xbox Game Pass
The reddit community reacted to the PlayStation Plus announcements for this month and, it seems, everyone was satisfied. Mainly because the month will have exclusives like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and day 1 releases like Humanity.
Some users believe that, at least at the moment, PlayStation Plus is more attractive than Xbox Game Pass. Especially since Microsoft's service had a slow start to the month with few releases and because the flow of releases has changed from 2022.
"Am I crazy for thinking PS Plus extra is better than Game pass right now?" one user asked. Some agreed with his words, as they stated that the most recent games are too appealing to subscribe to.
Several users stated that they let their Xbox Game Pass subscription expire and that, at least for now, there isn't a game that will bring them back. Because of this, some believe that PlayStation Plus is on track to surpass Xbox Game Pass in terms of catalog. Others think Sony's service has indeed improved, but not to the degree of being better than Microsoft's.
"Honestly I'm more impressed with the PS+ Extra additions lately while I've been unsubbed to GP for the last 6 months because there just hasn't been anything recently added that makes me want to resub and play something." said another gamer.
"Honestly the last few months have seen more quality added to the service than Game Pass, doesn't mean it's better but PS Extra has massively stepped up their game lately and is definitely going toe to toe with MS." another user noted.
