Although it debuted to negative reviews, the third Spider-Man movie directed by Sam Raimi gradually won over the hearts of fans. Undoubtedly, internet memes contributed to its redemption. One of the most popular jokes in the community was brought back to life thanks to actor Yuri Lowenthal.
For those unfamiliar, Spider-Man 3 features a scene in which Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) dances outside a clothing store under the influence of the dreaded Venom symbiote. It's a sequence that received much criticism upon the film's release, but now it holds the status of a legend in the eyes of fans.
Since the film's release in 2007, Marvel has referenced the controversial and iconic dance multiple times. One of the most well-known references is in the opening scene of Into the Spider-Verse, the animated film from Sony released in 2018.
It remains unknown if we'll see another recreation of this sequence in an official product, but the actor behind Peter Parker in the recent video games by Insomniac Games took it upon himself to keep the meme alive.

This week, San Diego Comic-Con 2023, the famous convention focused on comics, video games, series, and movies, commenced. On July 20th, Thursday, creators, actors, and other members of Insomniac Games gathered at a special panel to discuss Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the new installment in the popular game series.
Just before the panel officially started, Yuri Lowenthal, who portrays Peter Parker in the video games, hopped onto the table and began recreating the iconic dance from Spider-Man 3. Interestingly, at that moment, he was wearing a black suit similar to the one Tobey Maguire wears in the iconic scene from the live-action film.
It's no surprise that Yuri Lowenthal recreated the dance at the panel. After all, the sequel to the 2018 video game will feature Venom as the main villain.

As expected, the attendees of the conference cheered with excitement and amusement. Certainly, seeing an actor portraying Peter Parker imitating "Bully Maguire's" dance is not something you see every day. The moment lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough to captivate the crowd present.
During the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 panel, Insomniac Games shared a new trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 focusing on the narrative arc. They also revealed the new special edition PlayStation 5 inspired by the game.
