The Five Nights at Freddy’s saga has thrilled players with its main installments that continued the intricate storyline and spin-offs that explored new concepts. However, a beloved title is on borrowed time and will close very soon.
Since the release of its first installment in 2014, the franchise created by Scott Cawthon dared to explore different types of gameplay. While horror proposals with an emphasis on jump scares are the main experiences, derivative titles were also released that expanded the formula with new elements.
One of those games was Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery, a mobile spin-off inspired by Pokémon Go that explores augmented reality technology. Now, less than 5 years later from its release, it will bid farewell to all players.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery will shut down its servers very soon
In early February, the developer studio Illumix announced that the free-to-play game for mobile devices would permanently close its servers on March 14, 2024. This means that fans have a few hours to play it for free before it disappears.
This AR title ceased to be available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, preventing new fans from giving it a try; however, interested players can still download it for free through a safe and simple method.
After the servers stop operating at the end of this week, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery will be unplayable for all players, even those who downloaded it before it disappeared from digital stores.

In a statement, Illumix promised to increase rewards during the days leading up to the closure and allow players to purchase the Dark Circus DLC with Faz-Coins. Additionally, they thanked the community for their support and Scott Cawthon for giving them the opportunity to work on the project.
The franchise creator reacted to the announcement and sent a special message praising the developers' work.
Although this is sad news for animatronic enthusiasts, the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise will have a new video game to commemorate its 10th anniversary. Additionally, its live-action adaptation is already available on Amazon Prime Video, albeit in only one territory.
Tell us, were you a fan of this game? Do you think it will come back with a new installment?
