This asymmetric multiplayer title debuted in 2020 exclusively for PlayStation 4 and the Epic Games Store, although a year later, the Steam version for PC was released. Let's remember that Sony was responsible for publishing Predator: Hunting Grounds in 2020, but now the development studio, IllFonic, will assume the role of publisher and take charge of the project. Through a brief statement, they announced their plans for the future.
IllFonic confirmed that the online video game will finally come to Xbox Series X|S along with a native version for PlayStation 5. These ports are expected to debut in late 2024, although the exact date is unknown. They will be released with both a standard edition and a deluxe edition.
Meanwhile, the original versions for PC and PS4 will receive patch 2.49 in April, which will introduce general gameplay improvements and changes to character movement. Finally, the development studio confirmed plans to add new types of predators in winter 2024 and spring 2025.
What is Predator: Hunting Grounds?
For those unfamiliar, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetric multiplayer video game, similar to Dead by Daylight or the now-defunct Friday 13th The Game. One team of players takes on the role of a commando group tasked with completing a series of missions, while another participant assumes the role of the fearsome predator.
Although the game debuted with mixed reviews and now holds a Metacritic score of 56, its reviews on Steam are mostly positive. However, its community is very small on the Valve platform, with just 86 concurrent users in the last 24 hours.
