Capcom enjoys 11 fiscal years of growth and profits

The Japanese company sold 45.89 million copies, the highest figure in its history

While major companies in the video game industry continue with adjustments trying to stabilize their finances after the post-pandemic expectations frenzy (resulting in layoffs, closures, and cancellations), other companies thrive on the success of their business model by doing things right and without pretensions. Such is the case of Capcom, whose recent financial report showcases its great moment.

Capcom had never sold so many copies of its games in a fiscal year

Capcom presented its annual financial report for the fiscal year ending in March 2024. The Japanese company is celebrating as they've marked 11 fiscal years with increases in revenue and profits thanks to the good results their video games have achieved in the market. Likewise, during the concluded fiscal year, there was a 21% increase in net sales, operating income grew by 12.3%, and one of the most significant figures was the sale of 45.89 million copies of their catalog during the fiscal year running from April 2023 to March 2024, a historical record as they had never sold so much before.

According to the Japanese company, this success was achieved thanks to the good results in the market for Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2, titles that carried Capcom throughout the past months. Simultaneously, there was reported an increase in sales of their available catalog and the arrival of new users to their most important franchises, so Capcom is growing and adding from various directions.

After closing the fiscal year, Capcom expects growth in all its areas during the upcoming months, both in sales and revenue, and to add its 12th consecutive year with good results. Given the projections of the Japanese company, the expectation is for important launches and announcements regarding franchises with commercial success like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.
