This weekend, Sony finally confirmed that one of PlayStation 5s best-selling exclusives, Marvels Spider-Man 2, will be coming to PC, but those interested will have to meet a requirement that many PC gamers dislike.
Following Sonys announcement, the games official pages appeared on Steam and Epic Games Store, the two stores that will be receiving the title, which is nearing its first anniversary as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Do I need a PlayStation Network account to play Marvels Spider-Man 2 on PC?
What caught attention in the games listing is that it clearly states you will need a linked PlayStation Network account to play Marvels Spider-Man 2 on Steam or Epic Games Store; otherwise, it will be impossible to do so, even though the game only features a single-player campaign.

Although this integration has been met with frustration and criticism from many players, its important to note that Sony has been implementing this feature in its recent PC releases, even in single-player titles with no online or multiplayer elements. Thus, it was expected that Marvels Spider-Man 2 would follow suit, and this may continue with future ports on Steam and Epic Games Store.
Its worth noting that PlayStation Network isnt available in all regions where Steam is, meaning that players in those areas who want to play Marvels Spider-Man 2 on PC will be unable to do so.
In case you missed it: Marvels Spider-Man 2 will not have story DLC.
What do you think about Sonys requirement to link accounts in order to play its former PlayStation 5 exclusives on PC? Let us know in the comments.
