The The Last of Us series premiered a year ago and continues to achieve success. The production has just been honored at a prestigious awards ceremony, and one of the awards it received was for the work of actor Joel Miller.
Tonight marks the 30th edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, celebrating the best performers in the film and television industry. One of the biggest winners of the night was Pedro Pascal for his outstanding performance as an actor in a drama series. Pascal portrayed Joel Miller in all 9 episodes of Season 1 of The Last of Us.

"This is wrong for several reasons," Pascal began his speech. "Im a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk. Thank you, HBO. God, Louise. Im making a fool of myself. But thank you so much for this. Ive been in the SAG-AFTRA union since 1999. So, this is a damn incredible honor, were on Netflix. To the nominees, all of you, I dont remember any of your names right now. To Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Casey at HBO. Its very fitting; theyve given me work because I grew up watching their network. I have no skills. I have no other interests. So, the least you can do is give me a job. Franklin and Sue, who are with me here tonight. Maybe my family is watching. Im not sure. Im going to have a panic attack, and Im out."
The Last of Us triumphs at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
Pascals achievement was significant, as he competed against talented actors, namely Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfayden (Succession), and Billy Crudup (The Morning Shows).
The Chilean-born actor will return as this character for Season 2, which has already started filming, following a surgical intervention he underwent after injuring his shoulder in a home accident.
As of the time of writing this note, the HBO and PlayStation Productions production has already won another award. In addition to the recognition for Pedro Pascal, the series received the award for outstanding action scenes in a television series.
