Grand Theft Auto VI is still a long way off, but Rockstar Games just made the wait a little easier with a brand-new trailer and a flood of information. Not only did we get a closer look at the characters and story, but we also learned more about the huge map players will get to explore.
Rockstar’s games are known for their vast open worlds packed with diverse locations. GTA VI looks set to raise the bar once again, offering one of the biggest and most varied maps in the series to date.
Alongside the second trailer, the studio revealed new insights into the setting of Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval’s criminal saga. The good news? Vice City is just the beginning.
Discover the Massive Map of GTA VI
Set in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional take on Florida, Grand Theft Auto VI goes far beyond the neon lights of Vice City. The game will include at least six major locations, each with its own vibe, set of stories, and cast of characters.

Among them is Leonida Keys, a tropical archipelago with “the most beautiful and most dangerous waters in America.” Then there’s Grassrivers, a swampy region teeming with alligators and “far deadlier predators” lurking in the mangroves.
Another notable location is Port Gellhorn, a rundown coastal town of seedy motels, dying strip malls, and faded attractions. Ambrosia, in turn, lies at the heart of Leonida, upholding “old school values” and under the watch of a local biker gang.

One of the game’s most intriguing locations is Mount Kalaga, a vast national landmark in the state’s northern border, offering hunting, fishing, and off-road trails, ideal for “paranoid radicals that live far from the prying eyes of the government.”
Naturally, GTA VI wouldn’t be complete without a revamped Vice City, now glossier than ever with upscale hotels, flashy nightlife, and the golden sands of Ocean Beach.

Lucia and Jason Take the Lead
This new trailer also introduced some of the game’s colorful characters, from Boobie Ike and Drequan Priest to Real Dimez and Raul Bautista. But at the heart of the story are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, who find themselves caught up in a dangerous conspiracy.
