We have exciting news related to Masahiro Sakurai, as the Japanese developer has just confirmed the date for a special farewell episode on his YouTube channel. He invited his fans to stay tuned because there will be some surprises.

As you may remember, the creator of the Super Smash Bros. series has shared various materials on his channel Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games for over two years, aiming to assist and provide advice to those interested in video game development.
However, this intriguing journey of the Japanese YouTuber will come to a complete end on October 22, when the creative will publish a highly promising special episode.
Here’s his message:

“Looking forward to the final special on YouTube from Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games next Tuesday, October 22, at 8:00 PM Japan time! It will last a bit over 40 minutes. My international viewers may find it a bit challenging to tune in at that time, but everyone is welcome. For those who can’t attend, you can also watch it later on my channel. Hope to see you there!”
As you noticed, the final episode will have a duration of 40 minutes and promises some surprises, all airing tomorrow Tuesday at 5:00 AM Central Mexico Time.
Why is Sakurai Closing His YouTube Channel?
The Japanese developer hinted back in January that Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games was nearing its end. Moreover, the creator had previously mentioned that he would stop making videos once a new project emerged.
Now, all signs point to him possibly reuniting with his team to take charge of a new installment of Super Smash Bros., this time for the Nintendo Switch 2. Of course, this is just a rumor, and we’ll have to stay tuned for any updates.
We will continue to monitor what the developers future projects will be. In the meantime, we invite you to discover more news about the creative at this link.
