The Nintendo developer gave hints about the future of the series

Many gamers were left wanting more after finishing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so they are wondering if Nintendo is planning some kind of DLC or expansion for this Link adventure.

To put any doubts to rest, Eiji Aonuma, the game's producer, came clean and spoke on the subject in a recent interview. His statements will probably disappoint more than one fan, as he ruled out any kind of DLC for the title.

There are no plans for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom DLC

Speaking to Famitsu (via Insider Gaming), Aonuma ended hopes of seeing more content for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as he explained that there are no plans to release any DLC.

"There are no plans to release additional content at this time … I feel like I’ve done everything I can to create games in that world," said the Nintendo creative.

On the other hand, Aonuma spoke briefly about the future of the saga and what fans can expect in future games. He noted that they will probably offer a new way to play, so he asked fans to be patient for the new installment.

"If such a reason is newly born, it may return to the same world again. Whether it’s a sequel or a new work, I think it will be a completely new way to play, so I’d be happy if you could look forward to it," the developer finished.
