Price hikes in services continue to affect gamers

The price hikes in subscription services do not stop and once again affected gamers. According to several reports, Xbox Game Pass registered a drastic increase in its cost in several countries throughout this week.

The alarming thing is that some of the increases were up to 100% over previous costs. The countries affected were Argentina and Turkey, where users will have to save more to enjoy all the benefits of Microsoft's service.

Xbox Game Pass price hike in Argentina and Turkey

According to local reports, Xbox Game Pass went from costing ₺79.99 TRY to ₺159 TRY in Turkey, representing a 98.7% increase. On the other hand, the Ultimate subscription went from ₺120.99 TRY to ₺209 TRY, i.e., there was a 72.7% rise.

In Argentina, the base service increased from $1199 ARS to $2399 ARS. While the Ultimate subscription went from $1499 ARS to $2999 ARS. In both cases, the increase was 100% over the original prices.

Everything indicates that this local price increase is due to several factors, such as inflation, taxes and the price of the dollar, at least in the case of Argentina. Gamers in the region discussed the issue in a post on reddit (via Game World Observer), where they made it clear that, despite the increase, Xbox Game Pass is still a fairly affordable offer for everything it offers.

However, other players expressed their dissatisfaction, as they believe that the cost is no longer affordable and they are not willing to pay it. Finally, there are also people who said they canceled other subscriptions in order to keep Xbox Game Pass active.
