Much has been said about whether there will be a new Call of Duty in 2023 or not. While it first seemed that Modern Warfare 2 would receive 2 years of support, new information points to the fact that by the end of the year, we will have a new installment. In fact, there is a leak that has already revealed its release date.
According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, the next Call of Duty will debut on November 10, 2023, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S Series, Xbox One, and PC. In addition, exclusive early access will be offered on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 starting November 2, 2023, for those who purchase a premium version.
What do we know about this new title so far?
The new Call of Duty is being developed by Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare, Vanguard), which is receiving support from several of Activision's global studios. It is worth mentioning that the source assures that it will be a project deeply linked to the Modern Warfare series. That said, it is unknown if it will be called Modern Warfare 3 or if it will adopt another name.
We remind you that, originally, it was said that there would be no new Call of Duty in 2023. This is because Activision would have decided to release downloadable content that would expand the Modern Warfare 2 experience to give it a second year of life. While that seems to have been true at some point, plans changed at some point. That's how all the content that Sledgehammer Games was developing will be turned into a full game that will be sold for $70 USD.

Finally, it is not superfluous to remind you that this information comes from a good source, but it is not official yet. This is why we recommend you take it with a grain of salt until Activision makes an announcement. In the meantime, we can still play some of their currently playable titles such as Modern Warfare 2 or the free-to-play battle royale Warzone 2.0.
