In the case of video games, Microsoft's offensive, along with what Tencent, Embracer, and NetEase are doing, has put the focus on companies like Sony and what it could do in favor of PlayStation. However, it seems that the company will not give any surprises and will opt for a conservative strategy.

SONY HAS LESS MONEY FOR STRATEGIC ACQUISITIONS

The echoes of Sony's recent financial report (via Tweak Town), which confirmed the new sales figure for PlayStation 5, continue to resonate, and this time it has to do with the Japanese company's acquisition strategy. According to the official report, Sony has decided to reduce its budget for strategic acquisitions for 2023 and 2024. In March of last year, it was reported that the company had $5 billion for this purpose, but now the figure has been reduced to $3.64 billion.

As previously reported, this budget was not limited to video games but was available for other divisions of the Japanese company, so the idea of ??buying a large video game publisher or developer was considered somewhat distant.

However, the recently announced reduction will benefit PlayStation. How? The thing is, the company also reported that it will increase capital spending to strengthen its internal divisions and is interested in investing more money directly in its video game division, so new favorable movements are expected for PlayStation that do not necessarily involve acquisitions.
