Will Phantom Blade Zero be a PlayStation 5 exclusive on consoles?
By Mardokeo Galván onThe promising Chinese title promises dozens of hours of gameplay, multiplayer, and stunning combat

Chinese game development studios continue to surprise the West. One of the games that caught the most attention at PlayStation Showcase 2023 was precisely a Chinese one, Phantom Blade Zero, which showed off stunning gameplay and will have many more features, but will it be exclusive to PlayStation on consoles?
Soulframe Liang, founder and CEO of developer S-Game, explained that the combat in Phantom Blade Zero will not be soulslike but hack 'n' slash, with kung-fu (kungfupunk), dark fantasy, and RPG elements.
The studio says it's the game they've always wanted to make and described it as the "spiritual rebirth of the original Rainblood," the first game they worked on.
PHANTOM BLADE ZERO WILL HAVE LONG DURATION, MULTIPLAYER, AND ROBUST ENDGAME
The studio made it clear that all combat scenes are "real" and were captured within the game. However, they detailed that they used a more cinematic camera or angle and that the final game will have a wider perspective to avoid nausea.
Phantom Blade Zero will have "super complex and fast combos," but they will be easy to execute thanks to 2 command chains that players can customize, although they warned that it won't be easy, as doing it correctly will require skill and precise timing (dodging, counterattacking).
Additionally, it was confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero will have a semi-open world developed in Unreal Engine 5.
Best of all for single-player campaign lovers is that the game will offer a main story mode that will require between 30 and 40 hours to complete.
Furthermore, when the player finishes the main campaign mode, they will be able to find endgame content, which includes multiplayer dungeons, as well as a Boss Rush mode, rogue-like abysses, and more.
WILL PHANTOM BLADE ZERO HAVE EXCLUSIVITY WITH PLAYSTATION?
It's important to mention that Phantom Blade Zero was revealed at PlayStation Showcase 2023 and was mentioned to be coming to PlayStation 5, but it's also known to be coming to PC. Regarding exclusivity, the studio confirmed that there is currently "no exclusivity with any platform," according to the question and answer section on the project's official Discord (via MP1st).
Unfortunately, the game concept began in 2017, but formal development didn't start until early 2022, so the release date is expected to be far off.
We'll keep you informed.
