Denuvo announces SecureDLC, first Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection technology

Despite the controversy, developers and publishers continue to rely on such Denuvo DRM, so Irdeto, the company that creates it, has announced SecureDLC, an optional mechanism available to game developers that protect microtransactions on platforms like Steam, Microsoft Store, and Epic Games Store.
Irdeto has based the existence of SecureDLC on his belief that existing DLC pack protections can be easily avoided by game owners using simple tools, allowing them to access additional or premium content for which they have not paid.
By now, DLC is something normalized in the video game industry, although for a long time it was demonized by the dishonest use that many companies gave (and still give in some cases),
Irdeto has published information about SecureDLC on a dedicated website, claiming that developers can easily implement it in DLCs because it is a small, simple process that requires little code modification and is based on an API. It is also available as ''the first industry solution to address this problem."
According to the company, SecureDLC is now available to Denuvo developers, and it is pleased to provide its customers with a mechanism to help them secure and maximize revenue, as well as, in its words, enable new business models for developers to monetize their efforts.
Irdeto is willing to go to any length to combat piracy and illegal access to content, though many users will undoubtedly interpret SecureDLC as Denuvo's new way of penalizing them for legally acquiring material. The debate has begun.
“We at Denuvo understand that piracy negatively affects the gaming industry and are working with the industry parties to ensure they have the latest protection technologies available for them. Our team is excited to provide a solution that helps the developers and publishers to help fight the issue of Nintendo Switch piracy,” said Reinhard Blaukovitsch, Managing Director at Denuvo by Irdeto.
