From amazing hackers to fearless soldiers

If you are someone who plays a variety of titles, you have probably encountered Hispanic characters on more than one occasion.

From masked fighters to war soldiers and combat specialists, these characters may not be typical, but when they do appear, they are usually awesome. At Level Up, we believe it is critical to provide them with a space where they can be appropriately appreciated.

Top 10 Hispanic video game characters (in no specific order)

King — Tekken

His desire to build an orphanage is endearing for a man who appears intimidating, and his storyline is heartbreaking at times throughout the series. At one point, King died, and one of his precious orphans took up the mantle to become the new King.

Reyna — Valorant

From the heart of Mexico, Reyna arrives to dominate one-on-one duels, and each kill she performs increases her power. Her lethality is only limited by your skill when using her, so her effectiveness will depend a lot on it.

Manny Calavera — Grim Fandango

Manny Calavera is shown to be incredibly sarcastic and quick-witted all through his journey across the eighth underworld. At the start of the game, he is portrayed as rather pessimistic about his fate. As the game goes on, he becomes significantly more optimistic and sometimes heroic, prompting the attention of various revolutionary characters, such as Salvador Limones.

Abraham Reyes — Red dead redemption

He was told as a child that one day everyone would know his name, which influenced his lust for power. When he grew up, he became a guerrilla leader in northern Mexico, intending to inspire social reform through violent revolution.

Sombra — Overwatch

Sombra arrived in Overwatch in 2016 and quickly became one of the fan favorites. Even if the meta changes frequently, Sombra will always be a great hero for her ability to disrupt enemy teams and, in general, cause problems by disappearing from view. Sombra, whose real name is Olivia Colomar, wields a power more aggressively, traversing maps and afflicting enemies with her SMG.

Luis Sera — Resident Evil 4

Sera is a sidekick-like character Leon meets during his adventure. At one point, the two fight alongside each other to keep the Plagas-infected villagers from breaking into their temporary safe house and abduct Ashley. He is charismatic and his appearances were always a blast!

Isabela Keyes — Dead Rising

Isabela was one of the more well-rounded characters, serving as both a villain and an ally. Her storyline in the game is very interesting, but she is not given enough time to fully explore it.

Vega — Street Fighter

He is the most well-known villain in the series, second only to Bison, due to his effeminate appearance and sadistic personality. He's a lethal assassin who will stop at nothing to get his way. Vega is one Spanish lover you should never turn your back on, especially if you don't want to be torn apart by his massive claws.

Juan Aguacate — Guacamelee!

Juan Aguacate is a simple farmer who is thrust into the world of adventure when his childhood friend and president's daughter, Lupita, is kidnapped. Juan is killed while attempting to protect his friend during the kidnapping. In the afterlife, he meets Tostada, who gives him a luchador mask, transforming Juan into a formidable brawler.

Dominic Santiago — Gears of War

Dom is one of those characters that just pulls at your heartstrings the entire time you play with him. In comparison to the other characters in the game, Dominic comes across as a big teddy bear despite being such an absolute beast. Dominic's development is outstanding because when he hurts, you can feel it.
