Although recent rumors suggested that a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet would be released soon, The Pokémon Company used a different method of communication today.

A surprise show debuted on a portal that is only available in Japanese on Wednesday, September 28. The latter hosted the broadcast of a sort of short documentary, subtitled in English, dedicated to a virtual Pokémon World Ecological Society. Surprisingly, the event revealed a new Pokémon, which will debut in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

Wiglett was initially misidentified as a regional form of Diglett found in the Paldea region of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but it was later revealed to be a completely new Pokémon that will debut with the Ninth Generation of Game Freak creatures.

As of yet, The Pokémon Company has not released an official dedicated video, so the above video is a recording taken from the live broadcast of the Pokémon World Ecological Society.
