Nvidia RTX GeForce 4090 Ti could be cancelled after melting power supplies

Too powerful and dangerous for itself

Delayed or cancelled? To be honest, no one is sure about the fate of the NVIDIA RTX 4090 Ti, what we are sure of is that the GPU is so powerful that can even melt itself.

According to YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, reliable sources say that the RTX 4090 Ti is just too much for now as the graphic card melted itself during NVIDIA’s testing, but that wasn’t all the GPU also destroyed the PC power supplies in the process.

Apparently, the card used 600-700W and required two 16-pin PCIe connectors. In order to make it work, you will need a huge space in your cabinet as it is four slots thick and requires the motherboard mounted to it, also you will need a 1200W power supply and even if all these requirements are met, it can melt everything around it… so yeah, powerful.

Monstrous power

To be fair, no one will like to sacrifice other components for the most powerful graphic card on the market, so, until the team at NVIDIA fix this problem their Lovelace GPU won’t be available soon.

Fortunately, there is enough time for them to work on it, as the GeForce RTX 4090 is set to launch this month and according to critics this GPU is pushing the performance to new heights, so if you are in the need of a powerful graphic card that will not kill the rest of your components this may be a good option.

Is it the winner of this generation? We still need to check out AMD’s RDNA 3 GPUs and let's not forget INTEL who are developing GPUs that can reach acceptable performance while being budget-friendly.
