Oops! EA accidentally leaked World Cup mode from FIFA 23
By Sara Araujo onEA indeed scored an “own goal” with this one

We all know that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar begins in late November. Accordingly, the FIFA 23 World Cup is supposed to be released on the same date. Well, it wasn’t, at least for PlayStation users. It turns out that Electronic Arts has accidentally leaked a piece of FIFA 23's World Cup mode on PS5.
As expected, many FIFA fans owning a PS5 didn’t take long to share screenshots of the incident on multiple social media platforms. Apparently, FIFA 23's World Cup feature displays four different sub-modes: FIFA World Cup Live, FIFA World Cup Kick-Off, Online Tournament, and FIFA World Cup 2022.
Players also reported 48 teams that will be available to play in the mode (higher than the 32 teams qualified in the World Cup IRL.)
Even though FIFA has presented a few past irregularities, it has also proven to be a very popular title in the franchise. According to Eurogamer, FIFA 23 has been a resounding success for EA, with 10.3 million players hitting the game in its first week, which is a new record for the series.
