It seems that the new Overwatch 2 event, Battle for Olympus, has failed to meet the gaming community's expectations, which has expressed itself online with very strong comments about the work done by the developers.

A game mode that doesn't work?

For those who may not be aware, Battle for Olympus introduced timed challenges to obtain a free skin within a series of all versus all deathmatches. Well, as evidenced by the comments within a recent post in the shooter subreddit, players have been very critical of the content offerings of this new event.

The widespread opinion is that the free skin offered by the developers -which, by the way, seems to have been previously unlocked by a large part of the player base- is not a stimulating enough reward compared to the time one has to take to complete the event's tasks; many players have also criticized the balance of the all vs. all mode, judged as boring and chaotic.

In case you missed it: Gears of War will return in 2023, but not as you expect.

These comments add to the recent controversy surrounding XP in Overwatch 2, which has seen players accuse Blizzard of intentionally slowing down progression within the game but not alerting the community. We await official comments from the developers on these issues.
