Final Fantasy XVI aims to be one of the year's biggest releases. However, many things could be improved regarding the platforms on which it will be available. After months of speculation, Japanese producer Naoki Yoshida finally resolved the issue.

The original announcement initially confirmed that the JRPG would debut for PlayStation 5 and PC. Shortly after, Square Enix clarified the information and indicated that it would be a temporary exclusive of the new Sony hardware, although it did not disclose more details. As of early 2023, the producer refused to talk about the PC version and urged fans who want to play the title to buy the next-gen console.

Will the title come to PC? When will it come to PC? Naoki Yoshida broke his silence and talked about temporary exclusivity. Unfortunately, there is news that will disappoint fans.

FINAL FANTASY XVI WILL NOT ARRIVE 6 MONTHS AFTER THE DEBUT ON PS5, CONFIRMS NAOKI YOSHIDA

The Japanese creative reiterates that the new installment of the popular franchise will come to PlayStation 5, and it will be a 6-month timed exclusive. However, this does not mean the PC version will be released immediately after the exclusivity period ends.

The producer clarifies that they invested a lot of time and money in optimizing the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XVI to offer the best possible experience. While he says he'd like to release a PC version to reach a new audience, he still determines when that will happen.

“If we start optimizing the PC version after the PS5 version is released, we won't be able to do it for six months so it won't be released within that time. We would like to release it eventually, and we think we will, but right now, we're not at the stage where we can say when," Naoki Yoshida said.

Finally, the Japanese creative invited players to try the PlayStation 5 version, in which they worked hard to "create the best game in the world."

Unlike most installments in the JRPG franchise, Final Fantasy XVI will be aimed at an adult audience, as complex issues such as violence and relationships will be addressed. The good news is that fans can understand the whole story thanks to the Latin dubbing.

But tell us, when do you think the PC version will arrive? Will you wait or buy a PS5 to play this title? Let us read you in the comments.

Final Fantasy XVI will be available for PlayStation 5 from June 22, 2023.
