The Death Stranding title was very notable for several factors, and one of these was the musical selection it got in its soundtrack in collaboration with different renowned artists. This time we are talking about the Scottish indie music trio CHVRCHES, who participated in the 2019 video game and was responsible for the main song, which is titled "Death Stranding."

It is, therefore, obvious that a sector of the community expects it to collaborate again with Hideo Kojima and participate in the soundtrack of Death Stranding 2, a title that still has no release date. And now we have an official response from the members themselves.

CHVRCHES RESPONDS TO THE RUMORS

Rumors of a possible new involvement surfaced earlier this year when band members Iain Cook, Martin Doherty, and Lauren Mayberry visited the offices of Kojima Productions. They also had a special appearance on Hideo Kojima's Brain Structure podcast.

With this on the table, the musicians behind the band Chvrches responded to the theories and, although they assure that there is still nothing confirmed, they affirm that they are more than willing to participate in the new video game if the Japanese creative asks them to do so.

"We’re available. There’s nothing formal yet. We’ve talked [and] we’ve hinted heavily at each other that we would both like to collaborate again. There’s sort of a dance going on right now. I don’t want to be rejected by all out saying, ‘Can we be on the game please?’ and [Kojima] says no. But I don’t know.

"We’re continuing to build a really special relationship with Hideo. And I think we get him and I think he gets us. If the call comes in to do more then of course, we’ll be there in a second," said Martin Doherty in an interview with NME.

Knowing Hideo Kojima, the expected sequel will bring us many surprises. It would not be unexpected to find that the Scottish group not only makes the main theme of the title but even participate directly in the creation of the entire soundtrack as well as perhaps seeing the members inside the game. When it comes to Kojima, anything is possible.
