Rockstar announced by surprise this morning a port of Red Dead Redemption for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. While the news excited a portion of the community, the reality is that there are also quite a few disappointed fans.
Players used social networks to lament the absence of a remaster or remake of the title. Many believe it is a missed opportunity for Rockstar's popular game. In addition, there were also complaints about the absence of a PlayStation 5 and PC version.

Players are not happy with Red Dead Redemption port
As expected, Rockstar's announcement had a great impact on social networks. Some gamers are happy as they will be able to relive John Marston's intense adventure. Many are happy to see one more Rockstar game on Nintendo Switch and like the idea of playing Red Dead Redemption on handheld.
However, there are also quite a few disappointed fans, especially since they were expecting a remaster or remake that will take advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S potential. There are also complaints about the lack of major additions, as the title will stick to its original version without major adjustments.
On the other hand, PC gaming lovers also protested, since they believe that it was the ideal occasion for the title to finally reach computers. For this reason, part of the community believes that this port is "a wasted opportunity".
PlayStation fans also protested the absence of a native version that takes advantage of PlayStation 5 technology, as the re-release will run through PS4 backwards compatibility. There was also bewilderment over the lack of an Xbox release, especially since it is not known if the few new features will be added to the backwards compatible version in any way.
Finally, there are players concerned about how the game will perform. Several users were doubtful about the work of Double Eleven Studios, the studio that developed this port.
